What a piece of shit country we are now, thanks to this so-called president. He is an ugly cauldron full of atrocious ignorance, unthinkable gall, seasoned with of course his basic untrustworthiness. He simply can’t recognize the good, he only knows he is magnetically drawn to the bad, so scoops that around himself to bathe in it.
His vice president is the same, it seems.
Ukraine? A nation of demonstrably brave, resourceful, clever, loyal, and enduring people; led by a man so outstanding. This people takes the weapons aid given them by the world — and because they are intelligent and tech-savvy, they adapt and improve it, give it new uses and change the face of the war. Because they have had to, in response to the unprovoked Russian aggression of the last few years.
Ukraine was an admirable and desirable ally long before the war began. In the recent past, we had (I don’t know the status quo) intelligence people hidden there in their country before, and Ukraine protected them; later they simply gave us huge amounts of intelligence on Russia, for nothing in return.
These days (for survival), they create things to use in war that I’ve run across only in science fiction books (Doc Savage): Drone-boats that can successfully attack and take down a ship, drones that can drop anti-tank mines, which they have used against Russian buildings, looking a bit like flying saucers… recently a Ukrainian drone or so took out 2 Russian helicopters — these helicopters were going after the drones, but suddenly the drones have basically flying machine guns come out of them, firing at and taking down the helicopters. It’s simply incredible, what the Ukrainian tech can do. In Doc Savage, unmanned flying machine guns were a grave threat.
They’ll be writing books for years on what the Ukrainians have accomplished in war strategy and technology. It’s one reason why Putin wanted to grab them back, and own them. All the brains were there, and so many tech companies. Russia, on the other hand, has almost run through its supply of military vehicles, from reusing old WWII tanks to civilian trucks to motorcycles — and now is resorting to using donkeys to transport ammunition. It’s Putin’s excellent adventure, this nasty war that is impoverishing his own nation, depleting its military resources, killing its people. Remember why the Soviet Union fell? Mainly economics. Putin is a lousy bet for an ally — even if you are so depraved you actually like the cruelty, the murders, the dictatorship. Unschooled, unread Trump is incapable of recognizing this.
But Trump and Vance treat Zelenskyy this way, how despicable. I hope to see the end of this current U.S. administration, brought forward; as soon as possible. There are so many reasons to wish them gone, yesterday simply added one more.
